Library 2004 Summer Reading Program     

July 8  
Cat Catalani, musician & singer, will present two programs for us!  One will center on Harry Potter Songs for the Muggles.  The other program, the Music of Tin Pan Alley 1920-1940, is in the evening.

July 13
Mark Yehling, Coordinator of Urban Fishing Program, Illinois  Department of Natural Resources.  Mark will provide us with an  interesting program that will be a primer on fishing.  Mark will teach us about basic fishing, popular knots, ecology, fish identification and  much more.  Free handouts will be available at his presentation.

July 15
Little House on the Prairie Program (part 2) - Again travel with the Ingalls family as they head west and experience life on the pioneer  trail with our staff Pat V. and Patti C.!

July 19
Larry Kinsella, Archaeologist-Stone Tool Replicator.  Larry will demonstrate and speak about the history, manufacture and use of prehistoric tools.

July 23
Jack and Danette Miller, The Frilly and Miller Show combines high-energy music, comedy skits and audience participation to promote  various themes, including reading and character building.  This family  show includes lots of movement, interaction, wiggles and giggles.

After attending one of the above listed programs, check out two or more books, show your ticket from the program and receive an item from the grab bag at the Circulation Desk.  Offer good only on the day of the program.

Library Saturday Matinee
Saturday Matinee occurs every Saturday from 1-3 p.m.  Attendance prizes!!


Rebecca Caudill Book Club
It’s Back!!  If you are ages 9-13 and enjoy reading outstanding children’s literature, then you will want to join the Rebecca Caudill Book Club.  In its 5th year, the club provides FUN activities related to the nominated books and helps decide which book will win the Rebecca Caudill Young Readers Book Award.


Library Story Hour
Every Wednesday, storyteller Gail Long will continue with her entertaining stories and fun crafts.
