2005 Summer Reading Program
The Children’s Service’s Department would like to extend an invitation to all students Pre-K through Eighth Grade to join the O’Fallon Public Library’s 2005 Summer Reading Program, “Superheroes Powered by Books”.
The program is tentatively set to start with a week of registration June 6th. When children register for the program, they will receive a bag with a reading log, a calendar for the program with our special entertainers and craft days listed, as well as a small surprise! Each week, children will receive a small reading incentive for the books they have read that week.
We hope that with our efforts for the Summer Reading Program, we will instill a love of books and encourage good reading habits. Please come and be a superhero, powered by books this summer at your library.
DVDs and Xbox Games Needed for Wounded Military Personnel
The O’Fallon Library has been designated as a drop-off point for donated DVDs and Xbox games that O’Fallon resident Jim Manix is collecting as part of his Eagle Scout project.
The project’s focus is to provide entertainment for military personnel who have been wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. Many of these soldiers have a day’s layover at Scott Air Force Base before heading out to home or other hospitals, and these items make their journey home a little easier.
For more information about the project, call Jim at 628-1808. Items may be left at the library any time during hours of operation.
