Brand New Interactive Web Site
We have created a brand new, interactive web site that will increase communications between Elected Officials, city staff and our residents.   The new web site will allow you to easily remain informed and educated on a wide variety of issues.  “One of my main policy initiatives is to preserve an open government forum, and the new web site allows me to do that,” said Mayor Graham.

Residents and visitors will find the design of the new web site to be very user friendly with information on city services easy to locate and access. You will no longer find it necessary to make an extra trip to City Hall or call to obtain the information you are seeking.  Instead, you can simply visit www.ofallon.org at your convenience.

The new web site contains several brand new features.  One is a very useful tool that allows residents and visitors to interact with City Officials and staff on any issue or topic, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Another new and exciting feature is the ability for residents to subscribe to specific e-mail distribution lists such as Recreation Notices, City News and Announcements, Press Releases, Official Public Notices, and the Mayor’s Columns.  For example, if you wish to be informed about baseball and softball game cancellations, simply subscribe to our Recreation Notices by filling out our e-mail subscriber form and submitting it online.  This essential tool allows us to e-mail residents public notices and news releases online, and without charge, tremendously increasing our resident’s access to local government information.  You can rest assured that we will not sell or share your e-mail address with any e-mail spam marketers.

Anything you’re looking for on our new web site can be found in our quick links column, including information on City meetings, City departments, and information concerning employment. Residents can volunteer to serve on a variety of committees simply by filling out our online volunteer form.  Have a question?  The FAQs page will help you find what you need.  The new web site also offers residents the opportunity to contact all City Hall departments, including the Mayor, by going to our “Contact Us” page. Here citizens can fill out an online form and write comments to specific departments.  For example, if you see a pothole that needs repair, simply click on Engineering and Public Works and then enter your comments.  In addition, O’Fallon residents will now have the ability to submit most other city forms online, such as requesting leak checks from the Water Department or a service request form from the Engineering and Public Works Department.

We welcome and encourage all residents to send in their comments and suggestions.  Input from our residents is extremely important to us and suggested improvements in city services are always welcome.

Although the site has recently been launched, the information currently available online for city residents is just the beginning.  We are adding information daily to increase the web site’s capabilities and functions.  New pages designed for residents, businesses, and visitors are currently in the works.  We kindly ask our residents to be patient and considerate while these pages undergo construction.

No Cuts to Services
While you have no doubt heard about budget shortfalls plaguing the State of Illinois and our U.S. government, we are pleased to present a healthy operating budget for the City of O’Fallon for the period between May 1, 2004 and April 30, 2005. Furthermore, we proudly announce that for the coming budget year no municipal services will be cut.
This balanced budget is $47,569,546, which represents a 15.7% decrease over last year’s budget. This is primarily due to the construction costs for the new Public Safety Facility occurring in last year’s budget. General Fund operating expenditures come to $10,348,699, a 4.15% increase over the previous budget year.
This budget was crafted over time to best accommodate the goals and needs of the citizens of O’Fallon, as expressed to the Mayor and City Council. At its heart, the budget works on the assumption that the City will maintain, and where possible improve upon, the same high levels of City services and programs to which you’ve grown accustomed.
We live in a dynamic and growing community. City employees, from the Mayor on down, strive to balance the service demands of historic and new residential neighborhoods, regional shopping and interstate highway development, and established business districts. The strong working relationship between citizens like you, your City Council and staff in these areas continues to strengthen O’Fallon as a great community in which to live and work.
