Meeting of the Arts Commission Committee of the City of O’Fallon, held at City Hall, O’Fallon, IL

o       Our Website:averaging 500 individual visitors/week since June; more recently 400 different visitors per day!
o       Riverfront Times ad package: website's most "clicked-thru" advertising campaign of the whole summer!  Plus ¼ page full color ads plus Fall Arts Guide.
o       Sauce Magazine wrote us up in their September issue.
o       Wiggins has blanketed the region with posters & postcards, thanks to our very enthusiastic local vendors.
o       Progress article – Editor said it will run dateYear2007Day20Month99/20/07.
o       Belleville News Democrat article – will probably run 9/21/07.
o       Show Me St Louis – Caticchio to arrange Wiggins & vendors to appear – Wed, Sept 19 at 3:00pm.
o       Signs – (1) Simmons at Oberneufemann, (2) Public Safety Bldg property (Kixx fields), (3) Park at Hwy 50 close to Hardee’s corner, (4) Lincoln & State, (5) Urgicare at St E’s (Green Mount Rd) who is a local sponsor.
o       Marquees -  (1) Public Safety Bldg, (2) across from City Hall, (3) Park.  Banks?
o       Water bill inserts went out.
·       Decorations – nylon Japanese lanterns & pinwheels in trees: red, yellow, turquoise, lime green.  Vinyl table cloth to wrap poles.  4x8 full color banners on site.
·       Tents needed for (1) info booth, (2) band/DJ, (3) Craft Mafia.
·       Vendor/volunteer breakfast catered by St. Louis Bread company (bagels, fruit, muffins, coffee) sponsored by Craft Magazine.
·       Wi fi should be available in time for festival to provide vendor access to “paypal” online for cash-free sales.
·       Music - Bellevegas Band booked to play 12-2, Mike Thielman DJ's rest of the day
·       Activities:
        Young Chefs Academy – make edibles
o       Fiber Guild – live llamas, fiber spinning demo
o       Discovery School – project & display
o       Cranky Yellow Ceiling Project - paint a panel
o       ATC (artist trading cards)
·       Tote w/goodies to first 150 patrons; addt’l sold at info booth for $6.
·       Rafflereceive tickets from vendor with purchase.  Must be present to win.  Prizes donated by vendors.
·       Info Booth (Tote bags, programs, raffle) – Wiggins has filled volunteer slots.
·       Booth Guide Program/Map – Wiggins showed cover design.  Booklet will have (1) vendor map, (2) articles & projects by vendors.  Sold at info booth.  Ads paid for via vendor donation of raffle item. Red Cross –4pm.  Sign up online (goal 25-45). “Buddy Blood Drop” will appear at Fest.
·       Tourism Bureau – Our event is on their website; we will be featured in the Visitor Guide next year.
·       Friday Night Reception – cancelled since we could not find sponsor that would fund this.
·       Vendor Tax Info - IL form EDC-124 (Special Event Collections Report) given to all vendors on day of event.  Vendors registered as a business in IL provide Business Tax Number (IBT#) on the form. Vendors NOT registered as an IL business provide their Social Security #. Vendors mail form and payment of .076% within 10 days after event directly to IL Dept of Revenue in placePlaceNameFairview PlaceTypeHeights.
·       Attendance: Hoping for 5,000 attendees for 2007 fest.
·       Next year: different weekend so as not to conflict with Taste of St Louis; also avoid weekend of Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago (this year: Sept 15) maybe before that since vendors cannot generate more projects for fests that are two weekends in a row.  Hold fest for 2 days next year (open until timeMinute0Hour164pm Sunday).  Possibly more security will be needed depending on increase in attendance.
·       Misc: Millie is one of the vendors, and showed us some of her knitted purses that will be for sale at her booth!

Item B.  Arts & Parks Foundation (Hutchison).  501(c)3 status official.  Can begin looking for grants.  
        
Item C.   “1% for Public Art”(Hutchison):  No new information.

Item D.   Performing Arts Series (Caticchio, Hutchison).   Pending.

Item E.   placeCityMissoula Children’s Theater (Caticchio): “Cinderella” April 14-19, 2008 (8th residency).
Show times Friday 7pm & Saturday 1pm (instead of two Saturday shows).  Free Workshops: Moye, First Baptist, Hinchcliffe.  Workshop list sent to all schools May 2007.  

Item F.   Backyard Playhouse Summer Youth Theater Camp (Grimmer).  

Item G.  Links for Arts Commission Projects  (Wiggins).  After September, Wiggins will work on creating
links off city/Parks website that connect to festival site, Backyard Playhouse and MCT (photos of past shows/casts,
info on each upcoming event).
