Item A. Missoula Children’s Theater (Caticchio):
à “Cinderella” April 14-19, 2008 (8th residency).
à 138 at Audition (Cavins Monday, April 14): almost double usual amount!

à 60 local children cast, ages 6 though 18. No scholarships requested. All rehearsals at OTHS.
à New Show times worked great: Friday 7pm & Saturday 1pm (instead of two Saturday shows).
à First Baptist used free workshop; Hinchcliffe used credit toward assembly.
à DVD pick up was from Cavins instead of Alive Video.
à Sign Language Interpreter Training program at SWIC in Belleville provided free services.
à “Princess and the Pea” April 13-18, 2009 (9th residency). It was decided for next year that we will raise ticket price to $5 per seat, charge ½ price tuition for Asst Director. It was decided not to include DVD in tuition to gain minimum price with guaranteed quantity, but instead leave DVD sales as it is.
Item B. Backyard Playhouse Summer Youth Theater Camp (Grimmer).
à “Willy Wonka Junior” camp June 9-27, 2008 (M thru F 1p to 4pm), 3 weeks at OTHS auditorium, grades 3-12. $125 per camper. Script and music are secured.
à Hutchison reported that 11 campers registered so far. Curious to see if going back to 3 weeks (from 2 weeks) affects registration.
à Free Show will be performed twice. Flyer went to all schools regarding free shows and camp info.
à Backdrop donated by Odyssey of the Mind may be used sometime for camp.
à 2008 event date: Sept 27 & 28 (Sat 10-5, Sun 11-4).
à All Vendors (Craft or Food): $65 per booth, no jury fee, no commission.
à Taking Vendor applications June 1-30, 2008. Maximum: 120 vendors. 800 vendors are on email subscription list so not much promotion required to make vendors aware.
à Expected: over 100 vendors and over 5,000 attendees.
à Jo is “Food Czar” and is soliciting food vendors by end of June, seeking ethnic range of foods. Gyros, BBQ, Indian, Italian, sushi?
à Autumn shared info from Microsoft-sponsored Maker Faire that she attended and spoke at, showed slide show, recycle and “green” ideas for crafts, to run festival, etc.
à Music: DJ mornings then live music? Green idea: Power amps with stationary bikes? Bringing in portable stage.
à Wiggins working on national, regional, local sponsors----4 catagories:
1. Corporate/Craft (secure via email) $1000
2. Local $250
3. Food Barter/Product Barter
4. Media Sponsorship $500
à Wiggins will email sponsor letter pdf for Arts members to forward to possible sponsors. Possible DVD to market for sponsors; River Front Times ad.
à Online marketing: Illinois Arts Council/2008 Art Fair Directory, festing.com, Marketplace Magazine, The Grapevine. Caticchio to get info on BND insert publication.
à Fiber Guild is participating with llamas, wool demo, etc.
à Kids’ project: need 4 to 5 toaster ovens.
à Wiggins ordering biodegradable pens; colorful totes; will do minimal Festival décor.
Item D. Gnome Cut Out (Wiggins). Dallner will get plywood, Wiggins will sketch figures and let us know summer date(s)/times to come paint this project for Strange Folk Festival.
Item E. Arts & Parks Foundation (Hutchison).
à Hutchison contacting architect do conceptual drawings for marketing materials (brochure, presentation)
Item F. “1% for Public Art”(Hutchison): No new information.
Item G. Performing Arts Series (Caticchio, Hutchison). May have some sources for grant money
