Emergency Medical Services Week
May 18-24, 2008
O’Fallon, Illinois – May 8, 2008 – Mayor Gary L. Graham and the City Council have issued a Proclamation declaring the week of May 18-24, 2008 as Emergency Medical Services Week. The Proclamation further extends appreciation to O’Fallon’s Emergency Medical Services Department for the vital services they perform in our community.
Access to quality emergency care dramatically improves the survival and recovery rate for those who experience sudden illness or injury. “Our EMS Department provides critical emergency medical services that are second to none. When a serious illness or accident occurs in our City I know that the residents of O’Fallon can rest assured that they are in good hands with our EMS employees,” stated Mayor Graham.
Members of the O’Fallon EMS Department provide lifesaving care to those in need 24 hours a day, seven days a week and engage in numerous hours of specialized training and continuing education to enhance their lifesaving skills.
In addition to their continuing education training, EMS employees also conduct HeartSaver CPR and First Aid classes for the community. To inquire about class schedules and to sign up, call EMS at 624-4516.
