NEWS FROM O’FALLON CITY HALL
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
National Public Works Week
May 18 - 24, 2008
O’Fallon, Illinois – May 8, 2008 -- Mayor Gary L. Graham and the City Council have issued a Proclamation recognizing the week of May 18-24, 2008 as National Public Works Week. The Proclamation further extends appreciation to O’Fallon’s Public Works personnel for the indispensable services they perform.
“Public Works projects and services are critical to the growth and quality of life in O’Fallon, and are an integral part of our citizens’ everyday lives. Through the efforts of our Public Works Department, O’Fallon remains a safe and comfortable city in which to reside,” stated Mayor Gary L. Graham.
O’Fallon’s Public Works Department provides many essential services to O’Fallon residents. If your street has a pothole, or your water or sewer service is disrupted, public works personnel are the people who fix the problem. They are also the people who plow the snow from your street in the winter. Public works personnel are frequently called out in the middle of the night to repair a water break, respond to a sewer backup, or plow snow. They are the people who maintain and improve the systems and services vital to O’Fallon’s health, safety and comfort.
