Here is a summary of Monday’s City Council meeting agenda items. The items are listed in the order as they appeared in the agenda. Click here to see the full texts of the resolutions, ordinances, and staff reports. As a reminder, resolutions, motions, and special event permits only need to be approved once to become official. Ordinances are required to be approved in two readings (over two meetings) before they become official.
Here are the items that were approved by the City Council:
Resolution to conduct land acquisition services for the Milburn School Road reconstruction project: The City received a state grant to reconstruct Milburn School Road from Simmons Road to Merriam Parkway. The new road will require additional easements and right-of-way and this resolution is for Bernardin-Lochmueller & Associates to negotiate the land acquisition in an amount not to exceed $69,000.
Resolution to design the Seven Hills Road roundabout: The City received a state grant to construct a roundabout at the intersection of Seven Hills Road and State Street. This resolution is for Oates and Associates to provide engineering services to design the roundabout in an amount not to exceed $101,500.
Zoning variance request to allow a gravel driveway at 302 East Jefferson: The Zoning Hearing Officer reviewed the variance request and ruled that the property owner must comply with City ordinance and pave the driveway. However, the City Council voted in favor of the variance.
ON HOLD Ordinance establishing the Crime Free Multi-Housing Program: Following first reading approval on December 7. A special Community Development Committee meeting is scheduled for January 26 at 5:30 p.m. to review the proposed ordinance.
ON HOLD Tax Increment Financing Ordinances: Five Second Reading ordinances dealing with the proposed Regency Park Tax Increment Financing District are on hold for legal review.
Now you’re up to date. Next Monday’s committee meetings will be Finance and Administration at 5:30 p.m., Community Development at 6:00 p.m., and Public Works at 7:00 p.m.
