Construction Update

Democracy on the Front Lines
City Administrator’s Blog
Walter Denton

July 19, 2010
Here is an update on area construction projects:

Old Collinsville Road Reconstruction
The road is closed from the Frontage Road to an area just south of the entrance drive to Andria’s Restaurant. The culvert was removed and work is slow going because of the numerous utility lines in the area. The entire project will take around 12 months to complete.

O’Fallon-Troy Road Reconstruction
The road is closed approximately 1,000 feet south of Bethel School Road up to the Bethel School Road intersection. The aggregate base has been installed. The entire project will take more than one year to complete.

Hwy. 50 Asphalt Overlay
Paving is scheduled to begin this week. Work will start on the Frontage Road at Rte. 159 and will progressively move east to Venita Drive, and then on Highway 50 from Venita Drive (IHOP Restaurant) to Scott-Troy Road in O’Fallon. The project will a few weeks to complete and motorists should expect periodic delays as the overlay equipment moves through town.

Family Sports Park
The walking trail is complete and open to walkers/runners/cyclists. The access road is closed to install storm drains and utility lines. Water lines are being installed this week and work continues on the parking areas.

Ann/Alma/Edward Sewer Reconstruction
All sewer mains are complete. Lateral lines are still being installed.

Sewer Manhole Lining
Crews will be repairing various manholes around the older areas of O’Fallon and may temporarily disrupt traffic. Leaky manholes cause substantial stormwater to infiltrate the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant.
