Summer is almost over and many of our construction projects are winding down. It has been a while since my last construction update, so here is a summary of our projects:
Milburn School Road Reconstruction: The road is still closed. The curbing and truck apron are complete for the Merriam Parkway roundabout. Paving continues on the roundabout and the stretch from Merriam Parkway to Pausch. The roundabout could open as early as next week, depending on weather and striping. Once the paving is complete, then the road will be closed from Pausch to Simmons.
Green Mount/I-64 interchange improvements: This is not a City project, but will significantly affect O’Fallon residents. As early as Tuesday, September 4, St. Clair County’s contractor will be placing traffic control for the alteration of the bridge lanes (conversion to 4-lane over I-64), and some paving extensions on the north side of the interstate extending past the Pierce/Regency intersection with Green Mount. We do not have any details on the project at this time but we will pass along information as we get it. Expect heavy congestion during construction and avoid the area if possible.
Skatepark: Project is complete and a ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Tuesday, September 4, at 5:00 p.m.
North Lincoln improvements: This is a grant-funded repaving project from Jackson to Wesley. Construction is expected to begin this fall.
Venita Drive Railroad Overpass: Construction is expected to begin next spring.
Seven Hills/Old Vincennes Trail Roundabout: Complete.
Oberneufemann Road Railroad Crossing: Complete.
Sewer Trunk Main Repair: Complete.
Southview Drive Culvert: Complete.
Simmons Road Sidewalk: Complete
