Association
Members of the O'Fallon Fire Department belong to the O'Fallon Volunteer Fire Company #1.  This association was formed in 1891 as the beginning of the volunteers serving our community.  The membership includes active firefighters, department retirees and recruits.  Members of the association do not have to be on the front lines of firefighting.  Many department functions can be administered by volunteers willing to give of their time.

Serving the Community with Oxygen for over 50 Years
Supported by funds raised from the department's annual golf tournament, the O'Fallon Fire Department has provided free medical oxygen to all residents that reside in our fire district since 1950. Please call 624-4520 if you have any questions or require this service.

Smoke Detectors and Pizza
Does your smoke detector work? If so your next pizza could be free. Every Tuesday night the on duty crew delivers a pizza from the O'Fallon Pizza Hut to a resident of the city or surrounding fire district. If the smoke detectors work, the pizza is free. If the detector does not work, we replace the battery or install a new detector. We began this service based on the original idea of the Albany, New York Fire Department.

Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector Maintenance
The O'Fallon fire Department encourages regular maintenance of your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.  Changing the batteries in the applicable devices is the first step. "Change your clock - Change your batteries!" In addition, periodic cleaning of the devices is recommended by using a vacuum cleaner or compressed air.

Fire Escape Plan
It is very important for each family or business to have a pre-designed fire escape plan.  The plan should include a fire evacuation plan, outside meeting place for all occupants, and a list of emergency contact numbers.  Each plan should be reviewed and practiced on an annual basis.

Join the Team
Are you between the ages of 14-21? Do you have what it takes to be a fire explorer? If so, the O'Fallon Fire Department has an opportunity for you. The department is sponsoring an explorer program in conjunction with the local boy scouts. This program is designed to introduce young people to the fire service. The explorers receive hands-on training, and assist the fire department in a support role. Many explorers move on to a career or volunteer position in the fire service.
