The library provides many materials including books, newspapers, magazines, books on CD/MP3, music CDs, and DVDs, as well as access to many online databases. The library also has public copiers and fax service, as well as access to Internet and word processing computers. Free WiFi access is also available.
Many programs for children and adults are held throughout the year, including two weekly story times for preschoolers, and a weekly lapsit for children under two held during the school year, as well as a summer reading program for children of all ages.

DVD & Video collection: The library has over 4,000 DVDs and videos available for checkout. This includes many popular movies for all different ages as well as educational DVDs.
Online Database Access: The library has 32 online databases, covering many different subjects, that can be accessed both from the library and from your home or work computer. Included are Tumblebooks; World Book Online; and CultureGrams for children; as well as Heritage Quest for genealogy research; Price It!, an antique and collectible pricing tool; Gale Legal Forms; and EBSCO research databases.
Rotary Grants Collection: ~In the late 1990's, the O'Fallon Rotary Club and an anonymous donor provided funding for this Collection which includes journals, books, audiovisual materials and electronic resources. ~ A 2004 W. K. Kellogg Grant helped to add to this collection.
Illinois History: The nonfiction area houses a small collection of historical Illinois materials including Civil War regiments, Underground Railroad locations, prohibition gangsters, geology, local and county histories and much more. The Library also has the O’Fallon Progress on microfilm.
Children's Department: ~This department has three collections of material that provide assistance to parents, educators and students.
Learning Activities Resource Center (LARC): a collection of books and other resources to help those planning educational, recreational and other activities for children from pre-school to junior high school age. ~The LARC includes books (subject specific curriculum planning or crafts), magazines~(Books Link, Idea Book for Educators, Practical Homeschoolers, etc.), posters, curriculum file, seasonal activity file, and reproducible materials.
Emergent Reader Collection: A collection of books for the beginning and intermediate reader.
Homework Center (HC): helps with the many challenges that homework presents. ~The HC is a collection of textbooks on loan from participating area schools (K-8), as well as books purchased to help students with specific subject areas.
