Herb was elected Alderman for Ward 4 in April, 2011
He is a native of O’Fallon having been born on Washington Street. He and his wife, Nancy, have raised their three children Lea, Kate & Todd here in O’Fallon. They were all graduates of District 90 and OTHS prior to advancing their education and developing their individual careers.
Herb, who is a graduate of Southern Illinois University, is a Sr. Vice President with Heartland Bank. He has over 30 years of executive management experience with manufacturing, distribution and financial organizations with experience in business development, budgets, organizational development and strategic planning. In addition, he and his wife started and operated their own business here in O’Fallon for 20 years.
For over 30 years he has been actively involved in volunteering his time and effort through many civic and charitable boards and committees on the local, state and national level such as: Former Member and Chairman of Employer Advisory Board to the Dept. of Labor in Washington, D.C, Member and President of District 90 School Board, Member of the State of Illinois Board of Education where he served as chair of the Technology Committee, Past Member of the Board of Directors for the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce, Former member of Greater St. Louis Regional Commerce & Growth Association’s Work Development Committee, Past Member and President of the Board of Directors of O’Fallon Township High School, District 203 Endowment Fund, and 24 years of coaching youth sports for boys and girls in O’Fallon.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Lindenwood University where he has served on the Facilities, Strategic Planning and Finance Committees; is a Member of the Art’s and Education Advisory Panel which serves counties in Illinois and Missouri; is a Member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.
With ongoing input from the citizens of Ward 4 and O’Fallon, he is committed to using his experience and ability to work with others to maintain solid infrastructures and services for the citizens, while promoting growth and development with fiscal responsibility for the taxpayers of O’Fallon.
