Jerry has been a Ward 7 Alderman since 1999.
Having been a resident of O’Fallon since 1987, he and his wife, Jean, an instructor at Southwestern Illinois College, have three children, Mike, Tim and Beth. Two, Tim and Beth graduated from O’Fallon Township High School.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1992 after 28 years of service and took up a career in the defense industry, managing a large support contract at Scott Air Force Base.
Jerry has a bachelor’s of science in chemistry from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon and a master’s of science in meteorology from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
Before his election as alderman, Jerry served on the O’Fallon Planning Commission for five years, two as the vice-chair and three as the zoning subcommittee chair. Currently, he is a member and past President of the Rotary Club and the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army in is area as well as being involved in his church, school mentoring programs, Booster soccer, and O’Fallon band boosters.
He chaired a special committee to develop and economic incentive policy for O’Fallon and participated in a committee that developed the city’s investment policy.
Jerry is currently the chair of the Parks and Environment Committee and serves on the Community Development Committee.
Jerry’s primary interests as an alderman lie in the intelligent management of the growth we are experiencing in O’Fallon, sound economic development, and representing the citizens of the fastest growing ward in the city.
