Dan was appointed as an alderman in Ward 2 in April 2007.
Mr. Polites moved to O’Fallon in 1991 with his wife Terri and their three children; Danny, Taylor and Justin.
Dan has been the owner/operator of DP Golf Center since 1989 and is also the Director of Golf at Yorktown Golf Complex.
Dan has an associate’s degree from New Mexico Junior College, and Ferris State University, and a bachelor’s degree from Ferris State University.
Ald. Polites is very involved in the community. He has served as a Commissioner of the St. Clair County Public Building Commission since 1996. He has also served as a board member of Children’s Center for Behavioral Development School since 2000. Dan was on the Board of Trustees for Southwestern Illinois College from 1995 until 2001 and also served as a board member for Catholic Social Service from 1996 until 2000.
Dan has a passion for the game of golf and teaching others the sport. He is the host of a golf television show, Golf Today. Dan is a golf coach at Althoff Catholic High School and serves as Head Men's & Women's Golf Coach at Lindenwood University in Belleville, IL. Dan has also written a book Golf for Rookies and made a video Improve Your Golf Swing. He also conducts tournaments at Stonewolf Golf Course in Fairview Heights, IL.
