Friends of O'Fallon Public Library Book Sale - Sept. 30, 2009

A Weekly Note from Mayor Gary L. Graham
Traditional Values, Progressive Thinking

Fall and winter are the seasons that we typically spend more time indoors to escape the elements.  These seasons are the perfect time to curl up with a good book on a dreary afternoon.  The O’Fallon Public Library is a great asset to our community and is the place to find a book that is just right for you.

In fact, the Friends of the O’Fallon Public Library are hosting a sale of used books as part of their on-going fundraising efforts to benefit the library.  A preview sale will be held at the library tomorrow, on Thursday, October 1, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m.  Admission is free for members of the Friends Organization and $5 for all other individuals.

The book sale continues on Friday, October 2, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and admission is free.  On Saturday, October 3, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., books may be purchased at a nominal charge of $2 per bag.  Individuals must purchase bags upon entering the sale.  All proceeds from the book sale are donated to the library.

Individuals who wish to volunteer to work at the book sale may sign up at the library which is located at 120 Civic Plaza, O’Fallon, IL  62269.

Persons who wish to join the Friends organization may do so at the library, at the book sale preview or at any other time.  Membership is $10 for individuals, $8 for seniors, $1 for juniors, $20 for families, $40 for corporations, and $100 for a lifetime membership.

For more information about the book sale or about joining the Friends organization, please contact the library at 632-3783, Ann Sullivan at 624-8701, or Harriett Baker at 632-5530.

The strong working relationship between City Hall and the residents we serve is yet another example of why O’Fallon is such a great community in which to live.
