The Planning and Zoning Division is responsible for the physical planning and development function of the city. Responsibilities included implementing the City’s Comprehensive Plan, zoning code, and subdivision code. The division coordinates site plan review with the Engineering, Fire, and Police Departments and provides staff support to the Planning Commission, Zoning Hearing Officer, Community Development Committee, and Historic Preservation Commission. Our residents work with the Planning and Zoning Division when building sheds, porches, decks, covered patios and swimming pools to check setbacks, heights, and lot coverage as they apply for a building permit. The division also coordinates all home based businesses within the City.
We are located in the City Hall Building at 255 S. Lincoln Ave., O’Fallon, IL, on the second floor and are open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, except City holidays.
