Ted Shekell, Planning Director

Mr. Shekell, Planning Director for the City of O'Fallon, Illinois, has a Bachelor of Science in Geography from Penn State University and a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Virginia. He has served as
head of the city's planning, zoning, and building department since September 1997. He is a member of the American Planning Association and of the American Institute of Certified Planners. Prior to his work with O'Fallon, he served for six years as Executive Director of the Southern Five Regional Planning Commission located on the Shawnee College campus at Ullin, Illinois. The agency provided technical and administrative assistance to 23 municipalities and 5 counties in the areas of public works financing, economic development, housing rehabilitation, and planning and zoning. Prior to this, he worked as a research analyst for Planning and Management Consultants, Ltd., of Carbondale, Illinois, a private firm that provided water resource management assistance to both large metropolitan governments and the Army Corps of Engineers.
