The O’Fallon Police Department, in conjunction with the U.S. Attorney’s Law Enforcement Coordinator of Southern Illinois is participating in Project ChildSafe. This program offers firearm cable safety locks. These locks are designed to prevent the accidental discharge of a firearm. The locks are intended for use on rifles, pistols
and shotguns. The O'Fallon PD is also offering a second type of lock. This lock is designed only for Glock brand handguns and will work with almost all Glock handguns. See pictures below.
Interested O'Fallon Residents may receive two locks per family. Please telephone the Police Department at 624-4545 prior to picking up a lock. The O’Fallon Police urge all O’Fallon residents that own firearms to take advantage of this program.
