Boy Scouts of America Month
O’Fallon, Illinois – February 3, 2010--Mayor Gary L. Graham and the City Council have issued a Proclamation declaring the month of February as Boy Scouts of America Month. The Proclamation acknowledges the important contribution and commitment the Scouts have made to our community.
“I congratulate the Scouts on their 100th Anniversary and urge all residents to join in this observance and to express their appreciation to the Boy Scouts of America, especially our O’Fallon troops,” said Mayor Graham.
The Boy Scouts of America, the Nation’s largest youth orgainization, is a partner with over 100,000 other organizations offering a program of character development, citizenship training, and mental and physical fitness for our youths. Through Scouting, more than 1.5 million adults give dedicated volunteer service to 4.5 million boys and young adults, and provide an important contribution to our nation’s future.
“The Boy Scouts of America have contributed materially to the development and growth of the O’Fallon community in the past, and they continue to offer unparalleled opportunities for the future”, said Mayor Graham. “Please consider supporting the local Boy Scouts as they continue their community service projects”.
