FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Backyard Playhouse Performance
“Disney’s Junglebook KIDS”

O’Fallon, Illinois – June 21, 2007 –  Thirty local children will perform “Disney’s Jungle Book KIDS” at 1 and 4 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2007 at the O’Fallon High School Auditorium.  Admission is FREE!  The musical is a production of “THE BACKYARD PLAYHOUSE”, O’Fallon’s Summer Youth Theater Camp hosted by the City of O’Fallon Arts Commission and O’Fallon Parks & Recreation Department.

The jungle is jumpin’ with jazz in this exciting Disney classic!  Join Mowgli, Baloo, King Louie and the gang as they swing their way through madcap adventures and thwart the ferocious tiger, Shere Khan.  Specially adapted from the beloved film, this musical includes all your favorite Disney tunes, like “The Bare Necessities,” and “I Wan’na Be Like You.”  With colorful characters and that toe-tapping jungle rhythm, The Jungle Book KIDS is sure to be a crowd-pleaser for audiences of all ages.

This is the fifth year for the Backyard Playhouse Camp, organized and run by Crosby Grimmer and Rendy Faulkner of the Arts Commission of O’Fallon.  “We are proud and excited to offer another venue for the youth of O’Fallon in the area of performing arts,” commented Coordinator Crosby Grimmer.  Every camper gets a part and, along with their rehearsals, participants learn acting techniques and terms and get experience with theatrical makeup techniques.  This two-week camp for grades 3rd through 12th is designed to teach the basics of theater, awaken creativity, and build self esteem.  For more information, call Crosby Grimmer at (618) 628-1452.
