Pool Party Added to Tuesday’s
Fifth Annual National Night Out Against Crime Event
O’Fallon, Illinois – August 6, 2007 – Due to high temperatures and extreme heat indexes predicted for Tuesday, August 7, 2007, a free pool party has been added the activities that will be available during the National Night Out Against Crime event that will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at Community Park, 305 East Fifth Street, from 6 - 9 p.m.
Throughout the evening, free food and refreshments will be provided. The First United Methodist Church Praise Band will provide the entertainment and there will be plenty of activities for children including carnival rides, the YMCA climbing wall, and hourly prizes. The Fire Department will have their slide pole available for children to slide down and possibly a “smokehouse” that will teach children about fire safety. In addition, both the Emergency Services and Fire Departments will have ambulances and fire trucks on display for children to explore. There will be crime prevention/child safety presentations with a child safety seat installation station available. A K-9 demonstration is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. featuring Ptl. Mike Mojzis and his dog Bobo.

On Wednesday night, August 8, 2007, there will be a second free pool party at O’Fallon’s Memorial Pool from 6 – 9 p.m., open to all O’Fallon school district children and residents. The pool party will conclude the National Night Out festivities. Come out and meet the Police Department’s D.A.R.E. Officer, Ptl. John R. Stover who will give away two bicycles as attendance prizes one to a boy and one to a girl. Winners must be present to win.
