Fire Prevention Open House
October 9 - 11, 2007
O’Fallon, Illinois – October 5, 2007 -- Mayor Gary L. Graham is please to announce that the O’Fallon Fire Department will hold a Fire Prevention Open House at Fire Station #2, located on the corner of Highway 50 and Third Street, on Tuesday, October 9th, Wednesday, October 10th and Thursday, October 11th from 6 – 8 p.m.
There will be numerous activities for the family to enjoy each evening of the event, including fire truck rides, the fire slide pole, and fire extinguisher demonstrations.
“I encourage O’Fallon families to stop by the open house, have some refreshments, and pick up your choice of numerous fire prevention handouts that will be available”, stated Mayor Gary L. Graham.
The O’Fallon Fire Department wishes to remind residents that simple safety practices can help in preventing fires and fire related injuries. The keys to survival are early warning and quick action. Residents are encouraged to install working smoke alarms on every level of their homes, and to develop and practice a home fire drill, so every family member will be prepared in an emergency. Taking these simple steps today can save your life if your home catches fire.
