Obernuefemann Road Improvements
Public Information Meeting
O’Fallon, Illinois – October 23, 2007 – The City of O’Fallon will hold a Public Information Meeting concerning the proposed improvements on Obernuefemann Road on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at O’Fallon City Hall from 6-8 p.m. All persons interested in this project are invited to attend the meeting. Those persons with a disability planning to attend who need special accommodations should contact Mark Rujawitz, Project Engineer, Rhutasel and Associates, Inc., 4 Industrial Drive, P.O. The meeting will be conducted on an informal basis. A brief presentation on the description and status of the project will begin at 6 p.m. Representatives of O’Fallon, and Rhutasel and Associates, Inc. will be available after the presentation to discuss the project and answer individual questions. Comment sheets will be available for verbatim remarks and representatives will also record oral comments. The presentation will address topics such as the need for the project, construction easements, park coordination, and the tentative construction schedule. Preliminary design drawings and effects on properties will be available for inspection at the meeting.
The proposed improvements for Obernuefemann Road will be roadway reconstruction from the CSXT Railroad to Porter Road. The reconstruction will consist of several upgrades in the overall structure of the roadway. These upgrades include: left turn lanes at select intersections; realignment of side road approaches; new storm sewer and curb and gutter; sidewalks with access ramps for the disabled; more uniform road cross slopes; and better vertical and horizontal road alignment.
