Rasp Farm/Southview Village Development Project
O’Fallon, Illinois – November 6, 2007 – Mayor Gary L. Graham and the O’Fallon City Council made the decision at their November 5th Council Meeting to place the residential Rasp Farm/Southview Village Development Project on hold while an alternate development plan is pursued.
“The City Council and I always strive to make decisions and enact legislation that best serve our residents. We feel that the proposed alternate plan could be a project that will benefit the residents of Southview Gardens while being less intrusive to their neighborhood,” said Mayor Graham. “It is important to note that both of the Aldermen for Ward 3, Mr. Reckamp and Mr. Mouser welcomed the alternative idea, saying they only want what is best for the residents!”
While numerous details need to be worked out, the possible alternate plan will be a development that will greatly benefit the residents of Southview Gardens. It is anticipated that it will take 120 days to coordinate the project and to make certain the proposed plan meets applicable state laws. Details of the project will be released to residents as the development plan moves forward.
If the proposed alternate development plan does not come to fruition, the current residential plan will be brought back to the City Council for a vote.
