North Lincoln Reconstruction Project
O’Fallon, Illinois – March 26, 2008 – By mid-June, work will begin on the Phase 3 reconstruction project on North Lincoln Avenue from East Monroe to past East Jackson Street. The project includes the construction of new concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalks and asphalt pavement. Completion could take up to two months, dependent on weather. During the reconstruction, the road will be closed to through traffic. Detour routes will be clearly marked.
This project was originally scheduled for completion during the summer of 2009, but due to freeze-thaw cycles this past winter being unexpectedly damaging to the pavement, the project was moved forward to this summer.
“We kindly ask our residents to be patient and considerate during the construction of this much-needed project. To the maximum extent possible, we are trying to minimize the inconvenience caused by the project and are dedicated to making the situation as painless as possible. However, it is impossible to completely eliminate all the frustration that drivers and citizens experience, and we ask for your understanding and patience,” said Mayor Gary L. Graham.
