March for Babies Day - May 10, 2008

NEWS FROM O’FALLON CITY HALL
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

March for Babies Day  - May 10, 2008

O’Fallon, Illinois- May 7, 2008- Mayor Gary L. Graham and the City Council have issued a Proclamation declaring May 10, 2008 as March for Babies Day in O’Fallon.  The Proclamation recognizes the March of Dimes for their dedication in helping to save babies from being born too soon and encourages O’Fallon residents to participate in the March for Babies event (formerly called WalkAmerica).

The O’Fallon March for Babies event will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Community Park.  March for Babies is the March of Dimes largest fundraiser and has been a national tradition for many years.  Proceeds from the event support the organization’s mission of preventing birth defects and infant mortality through research, education, community services, and advocacy.

“I encourage O’Fallon residents to support the March of Dimes fight against prematurity, and take steps to save these tiny babies by joining the March of Dimes 2008 March for Babies”, said PersonNameMayor Graham.

For more information about the March for Babies event, please contact Terri Polites at 234-9445 or via email at mpolites@marchofdimes.com.
