Old Collinsville Road Reconstruction
O’Fallon, Illinois – June 17, 2010 – Beginning on or about July 6, work will begin on the reconstruction of Old Collinsville Road between the I-64 Frontage Road (Salem Place) and Milburn School Road.
This reconstruction project is expected to take approximately a year to complete. The road will be closed to through traffic in sections, but will remain accessible to the businesses and residents who are located in these areas. The first section to be closed is from the Frontage Road to an area just south of the entrance drive to Andria’s Restaurant. The first section contains a large amount of CSX Railroad reconstruction work as well as road work. A re-opening date for the first section is not available at this time.
“We kindly ask our residents and those of Fairview Heights, Caseyville and Collinsville to be patient and considerate during this major reconstruction project”, said Mayor Gary L. Graham. “To the maximum extent possible, we and our counterparts in Fairview Heights will attempt to minimize the inconvenience caused by this joint project. We are dedicated to making the situation as painless as possible. However, it is impossible to completely eliminate all the frustration that drivers and citizens will experience. We ask for your understanding and patience”.
