O’Fallon, Illinois – July 20, 2010 -- Mayor Gary L. Graham and the City Council have issued a Proclamation declaring July 19, 2010 as Ann Clayton Day.
Ann Clayton, an esteemed member of the O’Fallon community and an outstanding role model for all, showed tremendous bravery, compassion and generosity recently by becoming a kidney transplant donor. She lovingly donated one of her healthy kidneys to her dear friend Dee Reed, who has suffered from Alport Syndrome, a genetic endstage kidney disease. Ann’s gift has given Dee a second chance to have a full, rich and most of all, healthy life.
“We want Ann to know how thankful and fortunate we are to have her in the O’Fallon community, and how we appreciate all that she has done”, said Mayor Graham. “I encourage all residents in the City of O’Fallon to acknowledge the magnificent gift o life she has unselfishly given to Dee. It is our prayer both Ann and Dee will have long lives with the wonderful families.”
