OTHS Art Club Donates Third Sculpture to City
O’Fallon, Illinois – February 3, 2010—Mayor Gary L. Graham is pleased to announce that the OTHS Art Club has generously donated another sculpture to the City. The name of the new sculpture is “Spirit” and it has been placed at Thoman Park. The piece was created in 2007 by sculptor Donald Horstman and stands 12 feet tall.

“This is the third sculpture that OTHS Art Club students have donated to the City for placement at Thoman Park,” said Mayor Graham. “Their dedication to the arts is remarkable and we thank them for their hard work and generosity.” “They can be proud that the sculptures will be available for generations of O’Fallon residents to see and enjoy.”
Last fall, Debbie Raboin, OTHS art teacher and Art Club Sponsor, reported to the O’Fallon Arts Commission that OTHS Art Club students had raised enough money to purchase another sculpture for Thoman Park. The students voted for their favorite sculpture and chose area sculptor Donald Horstman’s work. Mr. Horstmann is a 30-year veteran of the arts, and a past educator.
