Residential Water Rates
O'Fallon, Fairview Heights., unincorporated

This information is specific to residential properties.
For information on water rates for COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES, please call 624-4500, ext 1.

The city reserves the right to establish the size of the meter to be used for water service to any building or premises within its system; however all meters shall be minimally sized to meet the requirements of the most current version of the Illinois Plumbing Code.

SERVICE AREAS:






Water Inside City.

(A) The established rates for the sale of water within the corporate limits of the City of O’Fallon are as follows:

First 2,000 gallons per month or less:  
$3.83 per 1,000 gallons
Next 6,000 gallons per month or less:  
$4.26 per 1,000 gallons
Next 240,000 gallons per month or less:  
$3.92 per 1,000 gallons
Next 415,000 gallons per month or less:  
$3.10 per 1,000 gallons
All over 663,000 gallons per month:  
$2.75 per 1,000 gallons

(B) The minimum charge to all customers supplied through a 5/8-inch, ¾-inch or 1-inch meter shall be $7.66 per month, with a proportionate charge for meters of larger size, based upon the area of the outlet opening of the meter and shall apply as a service charge whether water is used during the period or not as follows:

(D) The usage rate shall be subject to increase effective on each annual anniversary, beginning October, 2004, based upon the annual increase in the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Consumer Price Index, All Urban Consumers, US City Average, Water and Sewer Maintenance, or comparable index if the same is no longer published, for the month of May.




Rates for Fairview Heights.


(A) The established rates for the sale of water within the corporate limits of the City of Fairview Heights are as follows:

First 2,000 gallons per month or less:  
$4.69 per 1,000 gallons
Next 6,000 gallons per month or less:  
$5.18 per 1,000 gallons
Next 240,000 gallons per month or less:  
$4.80 per 1,000 gallons
Next 415,000 gallons per month or less:  
$3.77 per 1,000 gallons
All over 663,000 gallons per month:  
$3.40 per 1,000 gallons

(B) The minimum charge to all customers supplied through a 5/8-inch, ¾ inch or 1 inch meter shall be $9.38 per month, with a proportionate charge for meters of larger size based upon the area of the outlet opening of the meter and shall apply as a service charge whether water is used during the period or not as follows:

(E) Hydrant rental for the use of fire hydrants within the corporate limits of the City of Fairview Heights, Illinois, is to be charged to the City of Fairview Heights at the rate of $62.50 per hydrant payable annually beginning May 1 of each year, and any hydrants that are placed in service during the fiscal year shall be prorated for the remaining portion of the fiscal year based upon the above hydrant rental fee.     



Outside Corporate Limits.

(A) Rates for the sale of water from the water system of the city outside the corporate limits of the City of O’Fallon and City of Fairview Heights shall be the same, with a surcharge of  thirteen (13%) as follows:

First 2,000 gallons per month or less:  
$5.30 per 1,000 gallons
Next 6,000 gallons per month or less:  
$5.85 per 1,000 gallons
Next 240,000 gallons per month or less:  
$5.42 per 1,000 gallons
Next 415,000 gallons per month or less:  
$4.26 per 1,000 gallons
All over 663,000 gallons per month:  
$3.84 per 1,000 gallons

(B) The minimum charge to all customers supplied through a 5/8-inch, ¾-inch or 1-inch meter shall be $10.60 per month with a proportionate charge for meters of larger size based upon the area of the outlet opening of the meter and shall apply as a service charge whether water is used during the period or not as follows:

(D) Water rates are retroactive for the original customers to October 1, 1997.

(E) The usage rate shall be subject to increase effective on each annual anniversary, beginning October, 2004, based upon the annual increase in the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Consumer Price Index, All Urban Consumers, US City Average, Water and Sewer Maintenance, or comparable index if the same is no longer published, for the month of May.



Surcharges

(A) The surcharges for capital improvements in and outside the corporate limits of Fairview Heights west of Old Collinsville Road are as follows:

First 8,000 gallons per month or less:
$0.19 per 1,000 gallons
Next 240,000 gallons per month or less:
$0.16 per 1,000 gallons
Next 420,000 gallons per month or less:
$0.11 per 1,000 gallons
All over 650,000 gallons per month:
$0.09 per 1,000 gallons

(B) There will be a minimum surcharge to all customers supplied through a 5/8-inch, ¾ inch or 1 inch meter in the amount of $0.64 per month.


The minimum surcharge to all customers with meters of larger size than 1-inch, as hereinafter referred to, are as follows:

(C) All users outside the corporate limits of either City of O’Fallon or Fairview Heights, Illinois, will be assessed an additional surcharge of $1 for every 1,000 gallons used.
