1. The Rotary Club Wheels Program is local demand-response transportation service, which is not held to any particular schudule that operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Riders must call 24 hours in advance to schedule their pickup times. The routes and schedules are based on those requests. The service operates within O'Fallon Township and the O'Fallon city limits, but once a week a trip to St. Clair Spuare is scheduled. The van has a wheel chair lift and there is no cost to senior citizens 62 years and older and the disabled, 55-61 years of age are $.50 and all others the cost is $1.00. 2. As of April 25, 2005 the St. Clair County Transit District will provide an Alternative Transportation System program designed for senior citizens who qualify under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). With proper ID, disabled seniors along with individuals over the age of 65 will receive reduced fares for travel. 4. As part of the City’s Road Design procedure speed limits are artificially set below the standards based upon road conditions and/or characteristics. An additional part of the Road Design procedure is the use of signage and how it is implemented to make them more visible to senior citizens.
