ANNOUNCEMENTS
***SANITARY SYSTEM ALERT!!! From the webpages of Cloroxprofessional.com, be
advised that Clorox disinfecting wipes ARE NOT FLUSHABLE and they cause costly
problems at the wastewater treatment plant. Please do your part to keep costs down
and rates lower by disposing of them properly. THANK YOU!
***RATE INCREASE NOTICE---Effective 10/01/08, water and sewer rates were increased by 5.2%. This increase is based upon the Consumer Price Index as recorded by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, all urban customers, US city average, water and sewer maintenance.
***The City of O’Fallon has completed a mass water meter change out in a conversion to AMR which stands for Automatic Meter Reading. Utilities use AMR as a way of improving customer service while reducing the cost of reading meters. This has afforded the City the ability to send out bills on a monthly rather than quarterly basis. The water meters are located in the ground at each property and have an ERT (Encoder-Receiver-Transmitter) on top of the meter lid that facilitates the radio reading. Please be careful around the water meter when mowing or doing other lawn maintenance to avoid damaging our equipment. Damaged water meter components are expensive to replace and can result in costly charges to the customer. If you have any questions, please call a customer service
representative at 624-4500 extension 1.
