Philip A. Goodwin has been an O’Fallon resident for the past 25 years.  His wife, Johnnie Lynn Goodwin, and Phil are the parents of five adult children: Susan, Philip Jr., Steven, John and Jennifer.  The Goodwins have two grandchildren:  Philip III and Kristen.

Phil earned his Bachelor of Science in History from Charleston Southern College.

Phil is a decorated, retired Air Force Colonel with 100 missions over North Vietnam.  He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with 11 Oak Leaf Clusters.

Following his retirement, Phil has been self-employed in Financial Services Industries for the last 20 years.  He was named O’Fallon Businessman of the year in 2000. 

Phil is a mentor at Central School.  Through the youth mentoring, he has worked with social workers in three O’Fallon schools and has recruited 45 mentors for the programs.

As an active community service leader, Phil is a past president of O’Fallon Rotary Club.  He is presently the Assistant Governor for Rotary District 6510.  He has co-chaired the last eight Rotary Auctions, raising more then $150,000 for worthwhile community projects.

Phil is a member of the O’Fallon First United Methodist Church and Past President of the Men’s Club.  He is also a member of O’Fallon Lodge 576 Free and Accepted Masons, the Retired Officers Association, and the Air Force Association.
