Draft MINUTES HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION

O’Fallon Museum/Downtown O’Fallon Meeting Room

101 West State Street Tuesday January 3, 2017

1. Roll Call: Brown, McMillin, Spengler were excused; all others present.

2. Approval of November and December minutes: motion to accept November minutes by

Susan Hertich, approved by Kampen, all ayes, motion approved. Justin Randall discussed December minutes. Motion to accept December minutes by Jordan, seconded by Hertich, all ayes, motion approved.

3. Public Hearings: none

4. Discussion:

a. Cemetery walk.

Plan same as per November and prior discussion, Smiley and Dorris will be represented in walk.

b. City Hall

Cleanup is continuing. Shutters and windows will be updated. The size of the windows is not changing, so HPC approval is not expected. Installation of an elevator is forthcoming, which may warrant HPC approval.

c. Possible 2016 designations

i. Saint Ellen Mine/Park

It seems to be nearly complete. Steve Brown has it. ii. 501 N. Cherry Report is expected to be ready for review at next meeting.

d. 2016 Certified Local Government HPC Report Draft is in progress by Jordan.

5. Work Session – None

Discussion – Justin Randall announced Downtown O’Fallon/Destination O’Fallon Meeting on January 18 at 7pm at Public safety in Community Room.

6. Adjournment: Motion to adjourn by Jordan, seconded by Fohne – all ayes.
