McKendree University – Our Hometown University

NEWS FROM O’FALLON CITY HALL FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

O’Fallon, Illinois – March 7, 2017 – Mayor Gary L. Graham and the City Council have issued a Proclamation declaring McKendree University as our Hometown University.  The Proclamation further acknowledges the valuable contributions made by the University to our community and the region for 189 years.   

“McKendree University has partnered with the City of O’Fallon to provide opportunities for the development of youth sports programs, and the health and wellbeing of the residents of the City through the construction of the McKendree MetroRec Plex,’ said Mayor Graham.  “The success and wellbeing of the City of O’Fallon, the City of Lebanon, and McKendree University are all enhanced by continued strong partnerships and common goals directed at strengthening this region.”

McKendree University has served the educational needs of this region and the residents of O’Fallon since 1828.  The University has provided for the development of programs in the arts in this region and for the residents of O’Fallon through programs at the Hettenhausen Center for the Arts.  Alumni, students, faculty and staff of McKendree University live, work and shop in the O’Fallon community and make significant volunteer, professional and financial contributions to the community.
