O’Fallon Police Department Asking for Assistance in Investigating a Theft and Burglary of Construction Trailers in O’Fallon.

NEWS FROM O’FALLON CITY HALL FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

O’Fallon, Illinois – The O’Fallon Police Department is asking for assistance in investigating two incidents involving a theft and burglary of construction trailers in O’Fallon.

Incident #1: Theft of a 2017 Cargo Express, 16’ white box trailer (Illinois Registration; 312251-TC | VIN: 53BCTEA23HA026746), which contained various lawn mowing equipment, including:

  • 60” Scag Turf Tiger zero-turn mower (orange)
  • 36” Scag walk-behind mower (orange)
  • 48” Snapper Pro walk-behind mower (red with shield logo on deck)
  • John Deere push mower (green)
  • Maruyama string trimmer (red)
  • Echo hand-held leaf blower

The suspect vehicle, a maroon colored four door pick-up truck was seen in surveillance photos pulling the trailer away at 11:42 p.m. on June 17, 2016. The incident occurred on the Hometowne Suites Parking lot, 148 Regency Park Drive.

Incident #2: In a separate incident, a construction trailer was burglarized in the 500 block of Still Hollow between 1:30 p.m. on June 20, 2016 and 5:40 a.m. on June 21, 2016.  Forcible entry was gained by cutting the padlock off the door to the trailer.  Numerous power and hand tools were stolen.

At this point it is unclear if the two incidents are related.
