The beginning of the New Year is a perfect time for us to reflect back on 2016 and to determine our new year’s resolutions for 2017. The City of O’Fallon Parks and Recreation Department is offering numerous programs and activities throughout 2017 that will assist you and your family in keeping those resolutions.

Our Parks and Recreation Department is committed to offering programs and activities for the entire family and we encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities. It is easy to search and sign up for any programs and activities you may be interested in at the Parks and Recreation Department’s website (www.ofallonparksandrec.com). Samplings of programs and activities for this year include:

For Tots:

  • Parent ‘N’ Tot Tumbling
  • Kinder Gym/Tumbling
  • Music Together
  • Mighty Ball Soccer and Baseball

For Youth and Teen:

  • Madden Tournament
  • Art Basic Classes
  • Exploring Art Journaling

  • Hong Martial Arts – Karate/TKD/Jiu-Jitsu

If one of your resolutions is to get outside, share your passion for gardening, learn a few new things and have some fun, perhaps you should join the Garden Club. The Garden club meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Rock Springs Nature Center.  Check the website (http://ofallongardenclub.com/) for the most up to date meeting schedule.

Please don’t forget about our library when making your new year’s resolutions. The O’Fallon Public Library offers a wide range of materials and services to help you tackle whatever lies ahead.  With your library card you can check out an untold variety of books, movies, music, gadgets and interactive kits.

Some of the more unique and amazing items you can check out include:

  • Roku Streaming Video Devices
  • Samsung Galaxy Tablets
  • Nooks preloaded with dozens of best sellers
  • Brand new DVD releases

Of course, there is also a wide variety of content available online, 24/7, straight from your couch. You can:

  • Sharpen your Microsoft Office skills or learn a foreign language with Rosetta Stone
  • Study for the GRE, GED, SAT or other specialized test
  • Search a wide collection of academic journals to help with that upcoming research paper

Aside from all that “stuff,” the Library offers all sorts of special events you and your family can enjoy:
