2017/07/17 - Mayor's Column: You're Invited to a Town Hall Meeting

“An Open Door to O’Fallon”
A Weekly Note from O’Fallon Mayor Herb Roach

O’Fallon is your City, and you should always be up-to-date about what is going on. Last week, I wrote a column discussing some of the construction in O’Fallon. If you were not able to read it, you can still find it at http://www.ofallon.org/mayors-office/pages/20170710-mayors-column-ofallon-wasnt-built-in-a-day.

The large amount of comments received about this article indicate that O’Fallon’s residents are hungry for knowledge about their town. Which is great! Because it is one of my priorities to work hard to provide information to satisfy that hunger!

This is exactly the reason why I will be hosting a town hall meeting on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the Public Safety Building (285 N. Seven Hills Road) starting at 7 p.m.

At the town hall meeting, I will be covering updates on many of the construction projects going on in O’Fallon, in addition to many other topics, such as setting priorities, possible security improvements at City Hall, further Downtown development, and taking questions from those in attendance.

The town hall will be informal, much like the town hall meetings I hosted for my ward when I was an Alderman. There will be no formal structure. It is just a chance to hear updates about the City, provide feedback, and ask questions of your Mayor and City Administrator.

If you cannot make this town hall meeting, there will be other opportunities. I plan to host a town hall meeting, quarterly, throughout the year.

In addition to town hall meetings, I will also be hosting evening hours on the second Wednesday of each month, from 5 – 7 p.m. at City Hall and Saturday hours on the fourth Saturday of each month, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., at City Hall.

As residents of O’Fallon, you should always be able to reach out to your elected officials and ask questions about what is happening in O’Fallon. Having open communications is important to me and something I care very deeply about. Thank you for reading, and please remember, my door is always open!
