Construction Updates

Please be patient and cautious.  Many improvements in various locations throughout O’Fallon are underway or about to begin.  We apologize for any inconveniences but SAFETY of both the general and public workers is our main concern.  Closures are unfortunately inconvenient, but necessary to bring these projects to timely completion.

Cambridge Boulevard at North Green Mount Road - Cambridge Boulevard, between North Green Mount Road and Indian Creek Drive, will be closed to through traffic beginning Thursday, March 2, 2017.  Access will be maintained to all businesses with entrances on Cambridge during the closure. It is anticipated that Cambridge Boulevard will be re-opened to through traffic in approximately 2 months, weather permitting.

The work will consist of installing new storm sewer, curb and gutter, concrete pavement and ADA compliant sidewalks as part of the North Green Mount Road Improvements project.

Seven Hills Road Sidewalk Construction between Wildwood Drive and Carriel Junior High School - Construction on the sidewalk will start on February 20th.  Lane restrictions will occur at times during construction.  Construction is expected to last until June 30th, weather permitting.

North Green Mount Road (Regency Drive to Highway 50) - The Green Mount Road project has officially started! This improvement between Regency Park and Highway 50 will include 4-lanes with a planted median and intermediate turn lanes. The project will also consist of a new signalized intersection at Cambridge Boulevard, which will serve as the main entrance to the new St. Elizabeth's Medical Campus. In addition to the street improvements, a ten-foot wide bicycle/walking path will be installed on the west side of Green Mount Road -- providing a continuous pedestrian access route from Regency Park to the Family Sports Park and the Illini Bike Trail. Two-way traffic on Green Mount Road is expected to be maintained throughout construction. The project is scheduled to be completed on November 1, 2017, weather permitting.

Illini Bike Trail and Sidewalk Improvements:  Construction continues.  Most of the sidewalk along the west side of Lincoln Avenue has been installed.
