O'Fallon Parks and Recreation FAQ's

Q: What programs do you offer and how do I register for a program?

A: O'Fallon Parks and Recreation provides many programs throughout the year, ranging from brand new offerings to staples that you can count on at the same time each season.  You can see what programs are being offered and register for them here.  You can also navigate our seasonal brochures by returning to our home page and scrolling down to the brochure pictures near the bottom.


Q: How many parks does O'Fallon have and what amenities does each park include?

A: You can read all about the parks in the O'Fallon community here.


Q: How do I rent a building, facility, pavilion, or field?  

A: To rent a building, facility, pavilion, or field, you are required to come into the O'Fallon Parks and Recreation office at the Katy Cavins Community Center. You can also always call ahead to inquire about availability by calling the office at 624-0139.  Information on pavilions can be found here.  Information on renting the Katy Cavins Community Center can be found here.  


Q: How do i get information on Memorial Pool?

Q: I have a good idea for a new program at O'Fallon Parks and Recreation.  Who should I talk to about this?

Q: What is the phone number for the rainout hotline?

A: The rainout hotline is (618) 622-1439.


Q: What employment opportunities are available at O'Fallon Parks and Recreation?

A: O'Fallon Parks and Recreation has part-time positions available year round, ranging from scorekeepers to sports officials to lifeguards to managers.  To apply, please fill out a seasonal application and return it to the Katy Cavins Community Center at your earliest convenience.  To best ensure that your application for the summer hiring season gets reviewed, applicants should return the necessary paperwork as soon as possible - preferably by even January.


Q: How do I get insurance for my upcoming rental and what type of insurance do I need?

A: Liability insurance is required for any activity or rental event that requires or uses special features (amplified sound, tents/canopies, stages, promotional vehicles, inflatables, portable toilets, dumpsters, etc.).  These events will need a Special Event Application Form and applicants will have to submit a “Certificate of Insurance" in the amount of $1,000,000.00 worth of General Liability coverage that names the City of O’Fallon as additionally insured. This Certificate can be purchased from any insurance company or added onto your household insurance.  Upon receiving a completed Special Event Application, you will be informed of any remaining fees that must be paid along with the additional documentation requirements.

Alcohol and liquor consumption are allowed in our parks but, to consume alcohol in the Katy Cavins Center, a Dram Shop/Liquor Liability Insurance will be required.  Dram Shop Insurance can be obtained from any insurance company.  In addition to the Dram Shop, If you plan to sell alcohol at your event, you will need to contact the City Hall Clerk (mfair@ofallon.org) and obtain Council Approval and a State Liquor License. 

All certificates must be submitted to the Parks & Recreation Office before the event.
