Mighty Ball Soccer

Mighty Ball Baseball

A non-competitive, safe approach to teaching the game of baseball to preschool aged children.  Teams consist of a maximum of 9 players.  Each team will practice for the 1st 25 minutes and then will bat and field against another team during the last 20 minutes.  All players will receive a team shirt and hat.

Youth and Teen
O & S Instructional Soccer
This instructional league is designed to develop your child's skill, knowledge of soccer and self esteem.  Practice will start in mid August and games will begin in early September. This year we will again eliminate some of the travel by having divisions with low registration play small sided games.  Small sided games will feature shortened fields and a lower number of players on the field.  Pre K and Kindergarten teams will be coed; all other divisions will be separated by gender.  Games will be played Monday-Thursday and Saturdays.

KiXX Soccer Camp
The O'Fallon KiXX Soccer Club announces the return of its soccer camp for area youth.  Club Trainer and Camp Director Justin McMillian and his Elite FT Staff will emphasize skill development and instruction in offensive and defensive tactics.  Everyone is invited to attend, including non-Kixx players!  This fee also includes a camp T-Shirt.  Contact the O'Fallon Parks and Recreation Department for more information.

Show Choir Camp
Show Choir is a group of people who combine choral singing with dance movements, sometimes within the context of a specific idea or story. The O’Fallon Parks and Recreation Department is giving children the opportunity to get involved and learn at a young age by joining forces with Jamie Marble the Director of Great Expectations. Eagle Fencing Academy Practice and Lessons
Prerequisite:  Essential Fencing Techniques or Instructor Permission
Description:  These sessions are for those who wish to continue to learn more about fencing.  While emphasis is placed on the continued development of previously learned skills, additional techniques and movements will be taught.  To develop the tactical and strategic aspects of bouting, members will practice competitive fencing during each session.  Lessons are designed to enhance performance and increase expertise prior to entering competitive tournaments.

Art Basics
This course introduces youngsters to the concept of representational artwork.~ Activities include: creating a sketchbook, a guided drawing lesson, representational painting, a sculptural mosaic, still-life drawing, and pottery.~ Every student will be given a creative supply kit including drawing materials.~ Children should wear old clothing or a paint smock to class.~ The course will be instructed by local artist, Autumn Wiggins.~

This Martial Arts program has been designed and is taught by the Hong brothers, two master black belt instructors.~~ The Hong brothers have a combined teaching experience of over 30 years.~ They have altered the traditional training methods and practice a combination of martial arts including Karate, Tae Kwon Do and basic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.~

Hershey’s Track and Field
The O’Fallon Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting Hershey’s Track & Field competition on May 21 at 9:00 at Carriel Jr. High. Any child ages 9 -14 is eligible to participate. Winners in the O’Fallon meet will advance to the state meet on Saturday, June 25th at St. Rita High School. State meet winners will become eligible for selection to a Regional Team which will travel to Hershey, Pa., to compete in the North American Final, held Saturday, August 6th
Events will include the 50 meter dash, 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 800 meter run, 1600 meter run, 4 x 100 meter relay, standing long jump, and soft ball throw. Registration is free. Please pre-register with the O’Fallon Parks and Recreation Department

Coed Adult Sand Volleyball League
The sun is shining, the weather is warm and the game is on! Play sand volleyball this summer at the freshly renovated Three Springs Park Sand Volleyball Courts! The season will consist of a 7 week regular season plus 1 week for playoffs.  The top four teams in the regular season will make the playoffs.  Each match will consist of 3 games using rally scoring to 21.  Teams are COED and must consist of at least 3 females and no more than 10 people.  Games will be played 6v6.  This season, get your friends together and serve up some fun!

Stained Glass for Beginners
The traditional lead cane method is taught.  The panel we will do is approximately 11'' X 19'' in size.  Participants will learn how to cut glass as well as all the steps necessary to finish the project in 4 weeks.  Tools will be provided, however, students must purchase their consumable supplies ($50-$75).  A supply list and patterns will be given out the first night of class.  Three or four different designs are available to choose from.

~Advanced Stained Glass~~~~~

This class will focus on the copper foil method.~ Students will work to make a dimensional project piece like a Kleenex or Jewelry Box, or a small panel lampshade.~ Students must have completed the intermediate class or have experience working with lead and cutting glass.~ Tools are provided, but students will be responsible for purchasing their glass and other supplies.~~~~~~~

Basic Digital Photography:

Learn how to select a digital camera or use the features of one you already own.~ This basics class will teach fundamental digital camera functions and how to get the most out of your equipment.~ We will also talk about basic workflow, retouching, and image storage.~ Don’t be intimidated!~ This class is for the whole family, the point-and-shoot photographer or the DSLR owner.~ Stop using the “auto” setting and kick your photos up a notch!

Wildlife Photography:

This class will teach you how to locate native wildlife in our area and take stunning photos to enhance your portfolio or just expand your passion for photography and wildlife.~ We will share fundamental photography techniques that will have you entering and winning photo contests!~ You don’t need expensive equipment. ~You just need some basic instruction to give you the edge.~ The class is suitable for the whole family and will feature wildlife photos taken in O’Fallon and the surrounding area.

~Garden Club

Join the Garden Club to share your passion for gardening, learn a few things and to have some fun.~ This past year, we designed and cared for several landscape beds in the Family Sports Park, worked in a vegetable garden to provide fresh produce to the O’Fallon food pantry, toured several garden centers and other community gardens, and we worked on a couple of small projects.~ We also had several interesting speakers share their experiences with the group.~ It was a fantastic year and we look forward to another fun year as we move forward! We would love to see more people join and become active in the group.~ All are welcome, from novices to the Master Gardeners.~ We look forward to meeting you!
