Residential Construction / Home Improvement Permit Applications

Home Improvement Permits

There are a variety of home improvements that require a building permit.  Some of the types of improvements which generally require a building permit before construction commences are new one- and two-family and townhomes, basement finish, room addition, remodeling, deck construction, solar installation (when structural changes are proposed), pool installation, and shed installation.  Individual permits can be issued when only electrical work (which includes solar installation without structural changes) or only plumbing work is being done.
