Jerry Albrecht was elected as Council Member for Ward 2 in 2013.  Previously, he served as Council Member for Ward 7 from 1999 to 2013.  For five years prior to that he served on the Planning Commission. He and his family have been O’Fallon residents since 1987, with two children graduating from OTHS.

He retired from the Air Force in 1992 after 28 years of active service. After his Air Force retirement, he managed several Defense Industry IT contracts employing over 300 people at Scott AFB, until retiring in 2010.

He has been very active in the local community including activities with: the First United Methodist Church (Administrative Board, Building Committee Chair, Usher, Sunday School Teacher), the O’Fallon Rotary Club (Secretary, Vice-President, President, Board of Directors, Auction and Foundation Chairs), O’Fallon Band Boosters, O’Fallon Planning Commission (Vice Chair, Chair of the Zoning and the Comprehensive Plan revision sub-committees), Advisory Board for the Metro-East Salvation Army and the YMCA.

He has also been active in the mentoring program with the O’Fallon Township High School, Marie Schaefer School and the Central School District. He currently serves on the St. Clair County Parks Grant Commission and the St. Clair County Extension Foundation as well as the St. Clair Master Gardener Leadership Committee and the O’Fallon Parks Foundation Committee.

He participated in the City of O’Fallon’s strategic planning process and the O’Fallon Park Board’s strategic planning sessions. As Council Member for Ward 2, he currently chairs the Community Development Committee and is Vice-Chair of the Finance and Administration Committee. He chaired a Finance Committee sub-committee on economic incentives that developed the city’s economic policy on incentives. He actively acts as City Council liaison with both the Planning Commission and the Zoning Board of Appeals.
