Ray Holden

Ray Holden was elected as Alderman for Ward 6 in 2013.

Alderman Holden was born and raised in Michigan. After graduating from Ferris Institute (now Ferris State University), he joined the United States Air Force.

Ray had a long and respectable career in the Air Force. Mr. Holden served as a supply officer, a C-130 navigator and an operations/plan officer. He was director of a crisis action team during Desert War One and a Base Commander of Rheine Main Germany. During his time in the Air Force, Ray traveled the globe and was assigned to various locations including South East Asia and Germany. Ald. Holden was instrumental in erecting both the Berlin Airlift Memorial in Germany and the Airlift Memorial at Scott Air Force Base. Ray is Vice Chairman for Scott Field Heritage Air Park, was a charter member of Friends of Scott and is the Chairman of the Chamber Military Affairs Committee which sponsors the Salute to Scott annual picnic. Ray eventually retired from the USAF with the rank of Colonel.

After his retirement, Ray Holden continued to stay very busy. He established a successful real estate company in which he now has retired from. Ray has previously been on the O’Fallon Planning Commission, Wednesday Morning Economic Development Group and the committee that planned the 150th anniversary of O’Fallon. Currently, he is on the Advisory Board for the Salvation Army and a member of the Rotary.
