Course Description
The O'Fallon-Shiloh EMS Explorer Program introduces our community's youth to the fundamentals of pre-hospital emergency medicine.  Participants will learn basic patient assessment, medical treatments, and EMS operations.  Explorers will ride along with our department paramedics and EMTs, participating in daily operations of our ambulance service.  Along with basic first aid skills, our advisors focus on the importance of leadership, accountability, mentorship, and teamwork.
 
Intended Audience
High school students interested in learning about the exciting career of pre-hospital emergency medicine.  Participants are not required to be a citizen of O'Fallon.
 
Details
Our Explorer Program is affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America.  Participants meet bi-weekly at the O'Fallon Public Safety Buliding at 285 N. Seven Hills Road, O'Fallon, IL.  Meetings are organized and supervised by one of our program advisors and include a combination of classwork and hands-on trainings.
