Bradley White Selected as O’Fallon Fire Chief

NEWS FROM O’FALLON CITY HALL FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

O’Fallon, Illinois The City of O’Fallon is proud to announce that Bradley White has been selected as Chief of the O’Fallon Fire Department. Chief White will be introduced to the O’Fallon City Council on Monday, December 17, 2018.

“Given Bradley’s commitment to our community, his leadership skills and excellent background, he is a perfect fit to lead the O’Fallon Fire Department,” said Mayor Herb Roach. “Bradley White will be an excellent leader of the department and will continue to carry on the great legacy left by Retired Fire Chief Brent Saunders.”

Chief White previously served as a Lieutenant with the O’Fallon Fire Department, where he has been a volunteer member since 2006. Chief White recently retired from the United States Department of Defense after 28 years, which includes 13 years with the United States Marine Corps. Chief White most recently served as an Intelligence Specialist with the Naval Criminal Investigating Service (NCIS) at Scott Air Force Base. 

Chief White is a graduate of the American Military University and holds his Fire Officer I & II Certifications from Southwestern Illinois College’s Fire Science Program.

Over his career with the O’Fallon Fire Department and Department of Defense, Chief White has received numerous awards including the 2010 US Transportation Command Civilian of the Year, 2013 National Intelligence Exceptional Achievement Medal, and O’Fallon Fire Department Firefighter of the Year in 2009, 2011 and 2016.

Twenty-eight candidates applied for the Fire Chief Position. All were very qualified, and the final decision was difficult for the interview team consisting of Mayor Herb Roach, City Administrator Walter Denton, Director of Public Safety Eric Van Hook, Assistant City Administrator Grant Litteken, and Human Resources Manager April Mitchell. O’Fallon Rural Fire District President Doug Scott, Fairview Heights Fire Chief Bryan Doyle, and the Command Staff of the O’Fallon Fire Department participated in the selection process in an advisory role.
