NEWS FROM O'FALLON CITY HALL FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

O’Fallon, Illinois In observance of Memorial Day, City Hall will be closed on Monday, May 29, 2023. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. Residents are invited to attend the Memorial Day Ceremonies in O’Fallon.

Also due to the holiday, Waste Management’s pick-up schedule will be delayed by one day the week of May 29. Monday routes will be picked up on Tuesday, Tuesday routes on Wednesday, Wednesday routes on Thursday, Thursday routes on Friday, and Friday routes on Saturday.

On Memorial Day, The VFW Post 805 will be hosting a Memorial Day event at 8:30 a.m. at the City of O’Fallon Cemetery, located on North Oak Street. The public is invited to attend.

The City of O’Fallon will hold a Memorial Day observance on Monday, May 29th at 11:30 am at The Veterans Monument, located at 737 East Wesley Drive, O’Fallon IL. The guest speaker will be Major General Susan Henderson, USA, Chief of Staff, USTRANSCOM. There will be participation from O'Fallon Mayor Herb Roach, the OTHS AFJ ROTC; VFW Post 805; Miss O’Fallon Natalie Hale; OTHS Band Ensemble; Colonel Phil Goodwin (Ret.), Colonel Larry Strube (Ret.), in addition to others. The names of the newly inscribed veterans will be introduced at that time. Pre-service music will begin at 11:15. Veterans are encouraged to wear their medals and decorations that day. Please bring your own lawn chairs and water. In case of inclement weather, the event will take place at the First Baptist Church, located at 1111 East Highway 50 in O’Fallon.
