The City is making a major investment in Downtown O'Fallon as part of a larger economic development initiative called Destination O'Fallon. Based on the public feedback we received during the creation of the Downtown O'Fallon Area Action Plan, it was clear that the community has a strong desire for more festivals and community events downtown, and yet, the downtown lacks a proper place for these types of activities to take place. Currently, almost any event downtown requires the closure of major streets and the loss of a majority of the parking spaces. Therefore, the City is going to transform an underutilized lot at 1st & Vine into a beautiful plaza and parking area.
We asked for your feedback on our plans, and you responded! Approximately 70 people attended our public workshop and over 500 people took our online survey. Our design team has refined the site plan based on this feedback and is going to present the final concept at the Community Development Committee meeting on Monday, May 22nd. The meeting will take place at the Public Safety Building starting at 6:00 PM. All are welcome to attend. Presentation materials will be posted here after the meeting.

Downtown O'Fallon Area Action Plan
This plan is a practical analysis of Downtown O'Fallon and a clear road map for reaching its full potential in the future. Community input was received from a public meeting, stakeholder interviews, and an online survey with over 1,200 responses. This feedback was critical to developing the recommendations contained therein. The Downtown O'Fallon Area Action Plan was completed in October 2015 and staff is working on implementation. We encourage you to review this document and submit any comments/questions/concerns to Anne via email.
