Charges Issued Against John Isom

NEWS FROM O’FALLON CITY HALL FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

O’Fallon, Illinois – On October 19, 2016, the St. Clair County State’s Attorney issued charges against John Isom, 84 years old of O’Fallon, Illinois, with one (1) count of Disorderly Conduct (Class C misdemeanor).

The charge stems from an investigation initiated by the O’Fallon Police Department on Monday, October 17, 2016 after a complaint was received claiming Isom approached an 11-year-old girl while she was walking to school in the 1200 block of Ruppel Lane. Isom gave the victim a handwritten note containing $20; the note indicated his desire to meet with her privately.

Isom posted a $200 cash bond at the St. Clair County courthouse and was released from custody. A condition of Mr. Isom’s bond is that he is not to have any contact with minor children.

On July 14, 2016, Isom was charged by the Monroe County, Illinois State’s Attorney with one count of “indecent Solicitation of a Child.” Isom is currently out on bond for this charge with a pending court date of January 4, 2017 in Monroe County.

The O’Fallon Police Department requests parents discuss this matter with their children and contact the O’Fallon Police Department at 618-624-4545, immediately, if it revealed that a child was approached by Isom.
